My approach to the work.

The work I do draws on several key approaches and modalities which are outlined below. I consider this approach to fall within “therapeutic coaching” in that it is a coaching approach rooted in therapeutic models, particularly those from depth and transpersonal psychology.

The foundations of my approach:

Working with ‘parts’

My work draws from a therapy modality called Internal Family Systems. This is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on a client's internal “parts” and “Self.” In IFS, the mind is considered to be naturally made up of multiple sub-personalities or families within each individual's mental system. As an IFS-trained coach, I invite clients to actively engage with the various parts of themselves which show up in a session. These parts call for attention and in so doing, provide valuable guidance to my client as to what is needed for them to move forward.
